Where We're Staying
Set within a beautifully restored heritage building in the heart of Sydney, Capella Sydney is just a short walk from iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.Beyond its design, Capella is known for its highly personalized service and attention to detail, with the Sydney property earning global recognition, ranking 12th in The World's 50 Best Hotels.
Just steps from the beach in Cabarita, on the coast between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, Halcyon House is a relaxed, beachside boutique hotel known for its design, with each room individually styled in soft coastal tones and layered textures. The pace here is slow and easy: picture morning swims, long lunches, and time to properly switch off. It’s a warm, laid-back stay that captures the charm of this quieter stretch of coastline, while still being within easy reach of both Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.
What We’re Doing in Australia
Atlas Adventures is heading to Australia, starting with four nights in Sydney, a vibrant harbour city known for its coastlines and laid-back Australian lifestyle.
We’ll spend our time exploring some of the city’s most loved spots, from Bondi Beach to the relaxed charm of Manly. We’ll see Sydney from its best vantage point (out on the water) alongside great food, and plenty of Australian wine. There’s also the option to add on some special experiences, including visiting Taronga Zoo for a chance to meet koalas up close.
From there, we’ll fly north to Cabarita Beach, a quieter stretch of coastline just a short drive from Byron Bay. This part of the trip is all about slowing down: think beach walks, swims in the ocean, rosé by the pool and time to properly switch off. We’ll head into Byron to explore its boutiques and local food scene, enjoying its relaxed, creative energy.
This itinerary blends the best of Australia’s city and coast with iconic sights, incredible food and wine, and a more easygoing pace by the beach in true Aussie fashion to finish.

Meet Your Hosts
Leading this trip is our Hospitality Specialist, Lucy! Originally from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Lucy grew up by the ocean and went to school in Manly, so this part of the world is quite literally her home. A proud Australian (you’ll rarely find her in anything but Birkenstocks), she’s so excited to share the lifestyle she grew up with and loves so much.
Now based in London, Lucy brings over 14 years of travel experience and a deep understanding of global cultures, having explored more than 45+ countries. While she’s traveled extensively, Australia will always be special to her, and this trip is all about showing you why.
Along with the rest of the Atlas team, Lucy is passionate about creating thoughtful, experience-led itineraries that highlight the best of local culture, food, and atmosphere. From Sydney’s iconic cityscape to the laid-back rhythm of Byron Bay and Cabarita, she’s excited to introduce you to her version of home and hopes you’ll fall in love with it.
