Where We're Staying
Located in the historic Kruununhaka district, the Waldorf Astoria Helsinki marks the brand’s prestigious debut in the Nordic region. Housed within four meticulously restored 19th-century buildings, the hotel seamlessly blends neo-classical elegance with refined Finnish modernism.
The Vaattunki Igloos offer an immersive Arctic escape nestled along the Raudanjoki River, featuring glass-roofed cabins designed for unobstructed views of the Northern Lights directly from your bed. Each cabin blends cozy Nordic minimalism with modern comforts like underfloor heating and private rainfall showers to keep the Lappish chill at bay. Ideally located at the edge of the Arctic Circle Hiking Area, the resort provides a perfect balance of serene wilderness relaxation and easy access to husky sledding or riverside saunas.
Halo Igloos is a brand-new boutique resort located just north of Rovaniemi, offering a secluded, luxury escape designed for intimate stargazing and Northern Lights viewing. Each high-tech glass igloo is a private sanctuary featuring its own in-room sauna and a year-round heated outdoor jacuzzi
What We’re Doing in Lapland
This Lapland adventure begins with a night of urban luxury at the Waldorf Astoria Helsinki, where we will kick off our journey with a welcome reception at the iconic Peacock Bar followed by a curated walking tour of the capital's neo-classical landmarks. From there, we fly north to the Arctic Circle for a multi-night immersion into the Lappish wilderness. Our stay is split between the riverside Vaattunki Igloos and the ultra-premium Halo Igloos, both featuring thermal glass roofs designed for watching the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed.
Your journey is a curated collection of Arctic wonders. Begin by gliding through hushed, snow-laden forests on a reindeer-drawn sleigh, followed by an after-dark pursuit of the Northern Lights. Beyond the landscape, you’ll find the heart of the North at the Arktikum Museum, where the rich history and heritage of the Sámi people come to life. For the restless spirit, the adventure continues with optional add-on excursions: commanding your own team on a husky safari, snowmobiling to a remote frozen lake for traditional ice fishing, and leaning into the ultimate Finnish tradition: a deep, wood-fired sauna followed by a daring plunge into the crystalline Arctic waters.

Meet Your Hosts
Caitlin will be leading our first journey to the Arctic, bringing her love for photography and a decade of European exploration to this special trip to Lapland. After a life-changing backpacking trek ten years ago, Caitlin relocated to Munich to pursue her passion for discovering new places and cultures. Whether she is scouting a unique boutique design hotel, capturing the artistry of regional cuisine, or hiking through rugged mountain terrain, she is constantly seeking out the authentic "soul" of a destination.
A true aficionado of snowy landscapes and mountain regions, Caitlin’s travel philosophy centers on connection, both with local traditions and with the global community of travelers she meets along the way. She has spent years documenting Europe’s most stunning corners, yet she finds Lapland to be one of the most uniquely magical places on earth. Caitlin is so excited to share her favorite highlights of the Finnish wilderness with you and experience the magic of the North together.

You’re an “Arctic-Ready” Adventurer: "There’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes." If you believe that a bit of frost only adds to the beauty, you’re in the right place. Lapland in March is a pristine, snowy playground, but it demands respect. We’re looking for guests who view layering up as part of the ritual: putting on those thermal wools and heavy-duty parkas is the "uniform" of an epic day. Whether it's 23°F or -4°F, you’re the type of person who’s more interested in the dancing Aurora than the temperature on the thermometer. We provide the clothing recommendations; you provide the "let’s do this" attitude!
You’re a “Thrill & Chill” Connoisseur from adrenaline-fueled mornings to soul-soothing afternoons. Do you want to feel the raw power of a husky team pulling your sled across a frozen lake? Do you have ice fishing or snowmobiling through snowy forests on your bucket list? Perfect. But we also know that true luxury is the contrast. We’re looking for the woman who plays hard in the snow but equally cherishes the ritual of the Finnish sauna. If your idea of a perfect day ends with a glass of wine in a bubbling hot tub under a canopy of stars (and hopefully the Northern Lights!), you’ll fit right in.
