Right in the heart of one of London’s most desirable neighborhoods, we’re so excited to stay at the elegant + luxurious Mayfair Townhouse. This property is the only London hotel to be awarded Conde Nast Traveler’s 2021 ‘Hot List for Best New Hotels in the World’, as well as Travel + Leisure’s ‘IT LIST for The Best New Hotels in the World!’ While we’re tucked away on a quiet road, we’ll be in the center of the action, having access to the sights and sounds of London’s West End. Brushing shoulders with leafy Hyde Park and the royal Green Park, Mayfair evokes old and new world exclusivity. Synonymous with status, heritage, and prestige, Mayfair’s center stage is surrounded by world-class shopping, bespoke retailers, fine dining restaurants, and cultural attractions.

For the second half of our trip, we’ll head to the stunning Cotswolds! If you have watched the Holiday, you’ll know exactly how idyllic this part of the UK is. We will be spending our time in the picturesque town of Broadway, staying at the luxury hotel The Lygon Arms. The hotel boasts a spa, gym, restaurant, and a number of cozy corners to hide away with a glass of wine and a book. Not to mention it’s a dog-friendly hotel, so you’ll see four-legged friends dotted around the property at all times!

What We’re Doing in London & the Cotswolds

We’ll begin with a warm welcome in London, easing into the trip with arrival drinks and a group dinner to kick off our Royal week in London and the Cotswolds. Our first day will see us jumping on a train down to the regal town of Windsor. The next day it’s all about London Town. We will start the day with a short walk past Buckingham Palace and a visit to the the much-anticipiated QEII exhibition at the King’s Gallery. From there it’s time for lunch in true royal fashion with afternoon tea at a five star hotel much loved by the Royal Family. Here we will also enjoy an exhibition of luxury vintage jewellery with expert Susan Caplan, an experience that blends royal heritage with timeless style.

In the Cotswolds, we’ll start with a sumptuous lunch at one of our favourite spots in Stow-on-the-Wold before we all enjoy a much needed relaxing evening to settle into our countryside hotel. The next day sees us spending an indulgent day at much-loved Daylesford Organic Farm. Our final day offers the perfect balance of choice and indulgence: you can spend it uncovering more of the Cotswolds at your own pace, unwinding at the hotel, or joining the group to explore the grandeur of Blenheim Palace. We’ll then come together one last time to celebrate the week with a memorable farewell, rounding off a journey defined by royal heritage, exceptional experiences, and the very best of English countryside charm.

From Team Atlas, you’ll be guided by Founder & Managing Director Whitney. Her background in international travel and working with the Atlas travel planning team has facilitated direct relationships with top hoteliers, as well as a range of on-the-ground local partners.

Whitney prides herself in creating authentic travel experiences that showcase the best of local culture & memorable experiences. She is so excited to once again combine her passion for travel and love of her home: London!

We’re thrilled to have Elizabeth Holmes joining us again for this trip to London & the Cotswolds! Elizabeth is an experienced multimedia journalist and author of the New York Times bestseller, HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style. She’s traveled to London on assignment for a variety of events (including the most recent Coronation) and has a wealth of relevant knowledge & commentary to enhance this trip.

Atlas Adventures are built around a shared set of values rooted in kindness. We believe in prioritizing connection (whether with locals or fellow travelers), keeping an open mind through all experiences, and being adaptable with all that travel may bring. If the descriptions below sound like you, we want you to join us!

  • You are extremely flexible, open minded, easy-going and always up for a range of experiences.

  • You’re a positive person who looks for the best in all circumstances.

  • You enjoy meeting new people and are keen to make friends on this trip.

  • You desire to be a better traveler: respecting other people, other cultures + the planet along the way.

UNIQUE CONSIDERATIONS FOR LONDON & THE COTSWOLDS

  • You’re happy to walk & take public transportation: Londoners walk or take the tube most places, and we’ll be doing plenty of that on this trip!

  • You’re not seeking out Royal controversy: We understand the Royal Family can spark, well… so many thoughts. In the spirit of kindness, we ask our travellers to use thoughtful words & remember that we are coming together for connection, not conflict.

  • You’re looking to make friends: While you are welcome to sign up with someone, we want to emphasize that the purpose of this trip is to bring together a group of people who are all looking to make friends. For this reason, we suggest signing up solo, or with one friend (rather than a group).
